Being a leader doesn’t make you a “Superhero.” I would suggest not trying to act like one. It is often thought that leaders are born and not made. The skill of leadership can be learned. With some effort this can be true for anyone to learn leadership skills. Employees are usually receptive to their leader’s efforts and thoughtful guidance just as leaders appreciate feedback from their associates. Since it is true that leaders aren’t Superheroes then it is also true that leadership isn’t about having power. Leaders must have more in their toolbox to lead with, not just power. Tools like persuasion, knowledge and influence are a few that will come in handy.
